Trafalgar Tour Review

July 2022 I went on Trafalgar’s Best of Slovenia and Croatia Tour. This was my 1st experience with a guided tour and I was blown away with how everything was handled. I had the best time exploring the countries, seeing the beautiful landscapes and making new friends along the way. Trafalgar truly made my entire trip so smooth and memorable!

Trafalgar offers great hotel accommodations during your tour. We stayed at the Hotel Paris in Opatija which is situated in the very heart of Opatija, surrounded by majestic Austro-Hungarian buildings and beautiful Angiolina park. With its ideal location the sea and all the famous sights are just a few steps away. Then we visited the Hotel Lapad in Dubrovnik. This hotel has a century long tradition in tourism. Take a journey that compliments tradition, respect for history and loyalty to Dubrovnik ways. What distinguishes them from others is their unique story which delivers you an amazing portrait of how old charm of superior wing and modern moment within classic wing compliments each other.

Another great benefit of Tragalgar tours is that transportation and many of your meals are included. Breakfast was included every morning. They offered many options, which is great for those picker eaters in your group. Many of the dinners were also included as well. Keep in mind, that lunch was not provided and not every dinner was. But no worries! With guides who are experts of the area, they definitely can point you in the right direction for a great tasting meal! Transportation is included in your tour, making exploring smooth and hassle free. From the moment you arrive at the airport to your departure from your final stop. Your transportation is taken care of. You will experience comfort throughout your trip in their clean and polished coach buses. There are also many porters there to assist you with your luggage when moving to new hotels. This makes life a lot easier to manage. They will load and unload your luggage at each location.

When you book a Trafagar tour, you will have a travel director who will take care of many aspects of your trip. Such as, hotel check ins, setting up transfers, if anyone need medical attention, and so much more! Plus, since they are native to the area, they give great insight to it’s history and culture. My travel director was from Slovenia and lived in Croatia, so she was quite the expert! She knew the best restaurants such as, Roko in Opatija, could explain how to get anywhere at each place and gave insight to the culture through sharing her personal experiences in growing up in the area.

I'm sure you're wondering if Trafagar Tours are right for you or your family? ABSOLUTELY! Our group was very diverse! We had families, older couples, and single travelers like me! Every person on my Trafagar tour was AMAZING! They were all so kind and well-travelled. For many of them, this was not their first Trafagar tour so they were able to give me some insight on other countries and tours that I need to add to my travel list. This experience truly is perfect for anyone or any group who wants to discover new and beautiful places around the world. Being with our group, I was able to visit places I would have never gone to on my own. I learned so much of the history and the local cultures during my tour. Seriously, Trafagar is great for anyone who is wanting to explore and learn more about a destination with local experts at their fingertips.

In addition to our tour guides, they had more local specialist at many of the sites that we visited. They were able to educate us on historic buildings, the rich history of the people and of course point us to the best food in town.

I do want to mention that Trafagar does offer optional excursions for an additional price. But with all of the sightseeing and activities already included, there is no need to feel pressured into booking any of the added tours. By forgoing any additional excursions, you give yourself free time to go exploring the area on your own and getting more familiar with the destination. That being said, if you choose to do excursions, you'll still have some free time to explore, just won't have that extra free time. For me personally, I went on 2 excursions. During the day trip to Hvar Island from Split, I went on the boat ride (included) and then I went on a Sunset Cruise around Dubrovnik which included dinner. I opted out of 2 other excursions so that I could have a beach day and the other so I could get some extra rest in. The schedule is flexible and what you want it to be. It's your vacation so you can decide what you want to do!

Something that is new and may change, is that my tour offered a Wellness Director. It was like having an additional travel director with us. Our Wellness Director helped keep an eye on everyone. She made sure everyone made it on the bus, constantly gave out hand sanitizer and much more! This was something added due to the ongoing pandemic, so you may not have one on your next trip.

These guided tours are a great way to see the world. I was able to visit two beautiful countries with ease and comfort.
