Best European Planning and Packing Tips

European Adventure Awaits: Expert Planning and Packing Tips For Your Next Trip - As an avid traveler to Europe - I not only plan amazing itineraries to all the destinations in Europe, but I also help people figure out what to pack for Europe before you go.

Here are some of my favorite items to get off Amazon for Europe

What things do I need to do before going to Europe?

  • Get USD Cash for incidentals and/or tips - best to exchange money once you arrive at a convenient store

  • Make a meeting point in each city in case you get separated and electronics fail

  • Please call your cell phone carrier and make sure to learn about their data rates when in travel - most carriers have an international package

  • Please call the credit card company or your bank and let them know you will be traveling so that no charges will be declined.

  • Placing a copy of your itinerary in your checked luggage is a safe way to assure bag delivery in case of delays or mix ups.

  • Put air tags in your luggage.

  • Make copies (or take pictures and save them on your phone) of all passports, insurance, and travel documents prior to travel, and have copies accessible to someone in the states. This can be family or friends, or you can feel free to email them to me.

  • As with any travel, I always recommend leaving valuables at home that aren’t necessary. Whether domestic or international, it’s just always a great safety precaution.

  • Take a probiotic a week to two weeks prior to international travel- this helps build up immunities when traveling to places our bodies are not as accustomed to. Can’t hurt, and always can help!

  • Get a great small cross body bag or small backpack or money wallet that is secure can help hold all your shopping and sightseeing.

  • Depending on the time of travel - weather can be cold, pack layers, gloves, scarves and hats

Packing Items that you might not think of

  • Use packing cubes for your packing

  • Put Dryer Sheets in your cubes or between your clothes to keep them fresh

  • Plastic bags or seperate packing cube for dirty clothes or wet clothes

  • Pack a small drawstring backpack if you plan on shopping to carry items around with

  • Pack an extra suitcase if you plan on shopping a lot

  • Lotion, chapstick, and sunblock - sometimes climate differences can be brutal to the skin

  • European Conversion Chargers for electronics

  • External battery packs that you can carry along for power

  • Gum, mints, candies -long travel might call for refreshments

  • Travel Blankets/Pillows - if you are not flying first class - these will be essential

  • Bandaids and Nu-skin Blister pads - even if your in great shape sometimes the different terrain can rub the wrong way

  • Bag Balm or Ointment for "rub burns"

  • Downy wrinkle release

  • Meds - Ibuprofen, Melatonin, Vitamins, Allergy

Packing Items you will have on your list

  • Travel Documents

  • European Conversion Chargers for electronics

  • External battery packs that you can carry along for power

  • Any medications that you might need – carry them on if possible

  • Pack a Yeti or similar cup- it’s easier to stock up on drinks and keep them cold when you’re out on the go! Drinks go down fast when you are on the go. Doubling up keeps you from stopping so much for drinks.

  • Pack a change of clothes in your carryon.

  • Pack comfortable shoes
